Alpha Advent

Alpha Advent Day 22

Free Digiscrap AlphaFirst off, I’d like to start by thanking you for your lovely comments.  I appreciate your support as I try to see through my promise to give away 25 alphas in December.  You guys have every right to be disappointed in me, but instead you are encouraging me and thanking me, and I want you to know it means a lot to me.

Second, I’d like to encourage you to go hug a loved one, scrap a page, write a journal, or do whatever it is you’ve been meaning to do but haven’t.  I’ve been meaning to record my kitty purring, because she purrs me to sleep every night.  We lost her brother in January, and ever since I’ve been meaning to record her because I know she is just as old as he was, I don’t want to lose her and not have that recording.  Well, on the weekend her purr changed – and it turns out she has heart disease.  She won’t be with us long, and her purr is short, quick, and rapid as she tries to get enough blood through her heart.  It’s too late for me to record her purr the way it was.  It seems so silly, but her purr was with me through midnight feedings of my almost 14 year old first-born son, her purr was with me when my grandmother died, and her purr was with me every night in between.  And even though I didn’t want to, I took it for granted for too long.  Don’t be like me – go do what you’ve been meaning to do.

Third, I’d like to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day.  I hope you find time to enjoy the company of your loved ones today.  I know this day can be hard for those who are not in romantic relationships and I am sorry for any of you feeling blue.  I like to make this day about love – all love – not romance.  So love your family, love your friends, and love yourself.   Never under-estimate the power of a bubble bath to make you feel pampered, even if it’s a bubble bath you run for yourself.

Today’s alpha is obviously made with Valentine’s Day in mind – but I think you can use it all year round.  After all, we love all year round, right?

I hope you like it.

All alphas will be up for at least 48 hours, and then they will find their way into my store. Hope you enjoy, and I’ll see you soon !

  1. Thank you so much. And I really appreciate your message to those that are blue on Valentines Day. I’ve tried to stay positive…but it’s a hard time for me and just seeing someone acknowledge that not everybody has someone helped my ba-humbug attitude a bit! ;)

    • You are welcome for the alpha Wendy. And I’m glad my note about Valentine’s Day helped too. I know it sucks when there is manufactured happiness all around and you just aren’t feeling it. I hope you do something nice for yourself!

  3. That’s nice of you. I can feel what your feeling because I also had a pet cat but she died last year. I was really sad but I won’t forget every moments we’ve shared together.

  6. I like how you pointed out “all love not romance”. And I have agree to that, Valentines day is not only for lovers. It just shows the mature and sweet side of you. Cheers!
